On the road again... I just can't wait to be on the road again...

Remember that song?
Yeah.
It's great... and true!

In October I'm planning on playing my way all the way to U2 in Phoenix!
You know what the best part about that is? (And no, not that the random Black Eyed Peas are opening for them)
That I get to stop in Nebraska and Old Mexico on the way down!!

I just decided to play my way there and have already booked two gigs so, if you live in the area please come on out!
If you know someone that does spread the word for me would ya ;-)

I'm yet to route the trek home but I have my fingers crossed for Vegas.
Grab a flight and come join me there if I book it!

Oh, and if you're in Winnipeg, come out and see me with a full band at The Regal Beagle on Oct. 9th. Featuring the fabulous Jonny Moonbeam and drums and the overly talented Dale Brown! (If that's even possible - haha)

Much Love

All that's new...

Well, my house is being torn apart and put back together in slow installments, I run The Garrick Centre, and I'm taking a road trip, I can't afford, to Arizona in the fall to see U2 and the Black Eyed Peas!

Besides all that... not a whole lot is new.
ha

Oh, I'm also taking a little time out from playing gigs to work on new songs, perfect old ones, and get some recording done with my fantastic fiddle player Dale!
He IS the cats pajama's!

If you get the chance, please join us on Monday Nights at Le Garage in St. Boniface for our jam nights. It's a goooood time!

On the road again!

Yup that's right!
I'm getting set to head out on yet ANOTHER fun filled adventure!

Next Thursday I'm leaving for Las Vegas, renting a car, and taking it from there.
Funny how these are the kinds of things I always wanted to do as a young girl.
Live carefree and travel wherever and WHENEVER I feel like it.

Yes, I have found myself to be somewhat broke from time to time because of this, but that just means work harder when I'm home.
Then I have found myself not being able to play my guitar or write because I'm too busy working and so that means I have to some how find a balance.
bah

It's funny how being "carefree" still comes with it's stresses.
I guess I could sell my house, move back home and take it from there... but that doesn't sound all that carefree either.

Aw well, all in all, I guess I prefer it this way.
Stress lines on my face and all!

It's been over a YEAR?!

Wow... time flies when you fall in love!
Ok, so, I think I'm going to start this bad boy back up again.
I've been on so many adventures over the past year, and starting to finally get going again.
Pretty sure that means it's time to "blog"
I know it's not the COOL thing to do any more since Myspace and Facebook took over, but... I think it's fun and I hope you will too.
Why?
Well because then at least you'll come on back and read what I'm yammering about!
Until the release of my next post of awesomeness,
Much Love!

T-to the-Rout-to-the-F-to-the-est!

Trout Fest...
The best festival I've been to, to date!
It was small and it was AWESOME!
Great People, Carolyn Mark, fantastic jams, Carolyn Mark, rain and sunshine, Caro- and did I mention Carolyn Mark?!
Yeah.
She was there!
One of my favorite female songwriters and yeah... we hung out.
The first night we arrived there was a CRAZY rain storm! Once Carolyn Mark was done playin' we, Little Black Dress, headed back to the performers camp ground to get in on the jam.

Since it was still rainin' pretty hard we did a little jammin' in the Fink-mobile

Vanessa was pretty happy to finish that bottle b/c then she could play it.
Yessssss!
Finky and Lyns are pretty much in love...

no big deal.
But then again, so are Lynsay and Vanessa!

Me? Well... I appear to be somewhat of a gong show providing random entertainment.
I think Lynsay just wanted to jam "Rappers Delight" on that bad boy as quick as possible.

And Rappers Delight we did... Folk Style. Vanessa played the jug, Lynsay the slide whistle and I was the fool that had to rap.
It actually ended up being a nice filler between two od our songs.
Since Vanessa's boyfriend didn't come out this time, I was lucky enough to have a snuggle partner.
Which was good since it got SUPER cold the second night!

The next day we played a workshop and a show,
It was AWESOME!

(me finger painting between gigs)
We got fantastic feedback and had a GREAT time!

Obviously the next night was ALSO a jam night and Alex played the girls to sleep.
Sunday afternoon we were invited to join a traditional wine and cheese party just before we headed home.

So, all in all, that was Trout Fest and... I can't wait 'til next year!

Much Love
